• The Self Check Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) is a simple way to check for colon polyps, with a reliable result, at home, in 10 minutes. The test detects traces of blood in a stool sample that cannot be seen by eye, and has a comparable cut-off to tests used in UK screening programmes for bowel cancer.
• As colon polyps can bleed intermittently, this test kit allows you to easily check samples taken over three days, which increases the chances of detecting blood, compared to tests that rely on a single sample. You do not need to change your diet to use this test.
